A Real Auction Inside a Ridiculous Night Out.

We took the rush of a live auction, ditched the snooty auction-house attitude, added three hours of open bar, and made the audience part of the show.

Between auction lots, expect ridiculous games, surprise prizes, strange objects, and moments we probably couldn't recreate if we tried.

Maybe you want to sell something weird that's been sitting in your house for years.

Maybe you want to hunt for retro treasures.

Maybe you just want to drink craft beer and watch two grown adults become emotionally invested in the same ceramic animal.

All acceptable reasons to attend.

The second you walk through the doors, you're part of the show.

How the Night Works

1. Hit the Bar & Build Your Paddle

Check in at Bolero Snort, tap into the 3-hour open bar, grab some food, and customize your official auction paddle with markers, stickers, and whatever other nonsense we put on the table.

Make it beautiful.

Make it stupid.

Make something you'll aggressively wave in the air later.

Costumes are completely optional.

It is October 24, though.

Do with that information what you will.

2. Bring Your Item (Or Just Bring Yourself)

Have something weird, cool, retro, collectible, funny, or strangely desirable collecting dust at home?

Bring it with you.

No online submission. No pre-approval form.

Just tag it at check-in.

If it follows the house rules, it hits the block.

Don't feel like selling anything?

Also fine.

Come drink and buy everybody else's nonsense.

3. Scout the Floor

Before the auction starts, browse the staging tables and see what everyone brought.

Find your favorites.

Size up the competition.

Talk friendly trash.

Tell yourself you're absolutely not going over $25 for that thing.

Bid $47 for that thing.

4. Raise It High & Let It Fly

Then the host takes the mic.

The paddles go up.

The games begin.

The bidding gets fast, loud, and ridiculous.

Between lots, expect audience challenges, giveaways, surprise moments, and whatever other dumb ideas seemed funny when we planned this.

Never bid at an auction before?

Good.

We explain how it works in about 30 seconds.

Bring the Good Weird.
Leave the Clutter at Home.

We aren't pre-screening items online because nobody needs homework before going to a brewery. But we do want the auction filled with things people might actually fight over with a pint in their hand.

Green Light

Bring things that are:

  • • Weird
  • • Vintage
  • • Collectible
  • • Funny
  • • Nostalgic
  • • Surprisingly useful
  • • Great conversation starters
  • • Attached to a good story
  • • The kind of thing you'd stop and look at if you saw it sitting on a table

Red Light

Leave home:

  • • Broken stuff
  • • Ordinary household clutter
  • • Oversized items
  • • Weapons or illegal items
  • • Perishable food
  • • Anything gross, sticky, dangerous, or impossible to take home

The 50 lb Rule

The auction is on the second floor.

So keep it carryable.

Nothing over 50 lbs, nothing oversized, and nothing the winning bidder can't reasonably get back downstairs and into a car that night.

Rule of thumb:

If it wouldn't make a room full of people laugh, gasp, or shout "I need that," don't bring it.

Yes, There Will Be Stupid Prizes.

We believe achievement deserves recognition.

Even when the achievement is objectively meaningless.

Expect ridiculous games, surprise giveaways, unnecessary ceremonies, and prizes for things you may not have realized were competitions until approximately five minutes earlier.

Will winning one improve your life?

Probably not.

Will you desperately want to win anyway?

Almost certainly.
